About Proud
The facts, the founder, and everything a journalist needs to write about Proud accurately.
From the founder
Nearly every food app measures something. For a lot of people the measuring is the problem, not the help. What steadies people is being seen by someone who cares.
You log a meal. One person you chose sees it. They send a Proud back. No feed to grow, no follower count to chase, no numbers about food or bodies.
Small is deliberate. Every feature has to earn its place, and when something is wrong you can email the person who can fix it: theo@proudforus.com. I read everything.

The facts
Not treatment, in plain words
Proud is peer support, accountability and reflection. It is not treatment, not therapy, and not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition. It deliberately contains no calorie counting, no weights, no macros, and no numbers about food or bodies. Please quote it that way.

Writing about Proud and eating
Proud’s audience includes people with a difficult relationship with food, so coverage carries weight. In line with media guidance from eating disorder organizations such as Beat and NEDC: avoid citing weights, calories, BMI or other numbers, avoid before and after imagery, avoid describing specific behaviors in detail, and include a help resource. This site does the same on every page.
