Delete your account
Your account is yours to end, from inside the app, in under a minute. This page says exactly what happens when you do.
Delete from inside the app
- Open Proud and go to the Profile tab, then Settings.
- Tap Manage your data.
- Under Account, tap Delete account.
- Read the confirmation, tap Continue, then Delete forever.
Deletion runs immediately. You are signed out, and the data below is removed. There is no recovery afterwards, so export anything you want to keep first: your Unfold journal can be exported from Manage your data.
Proud Plus is separate. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription, because billing lives with Apple. Cancel first in your iPhone Settings: tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Proud.
What is deleted
- Your profile, username, and profile photo.
- Every meal post, photo, and note.
- Your Unfold journal.
- Your Bloom conversations and Bloom’s private profile.
- Your buddy connection, on both sides, along with requests and nudges in either direction.
- Your notifications and your subscription record in Proud.
- Your username is released for someone else to use.
What is retained, and for how long
- Backups. Encrypted backups can hold copies of deleted data for up to 30 days before they clear completely.
- Reports. Abuse reports filed by you or about you are kept, so a report cannot be erased by deleting an account and signing up again.
- Transactions. Apple and RevenueCat keep purchase records for as long as financial rules require. Proud cannot delete Apple’s records of your purchases.
The full picture of what Proud collects lives in the privacy policy.
If you cannot get into the app
Email theo@proudforus.com from the email address on your account and ask for deletion. You will get a confirmation, and the deletion will be completed within 30 days at the latest, almost always much sooner. Requests from a different email address will need a little back and forth to prove the account is yours, which protects you.
