How the Proud blog is written
Who checks every post, the rules they follow, and what to do if we get something wrong.
Who checks every post
Nothing is published until Layla, Editor at Proud, has read every line, opened every source and approved it. Layla’s name is on each post as the person answerable for it.
Layla edits the Proud blog: every post is read in full before it goes live, every source is opened, every claim about another app is checked against that app's own listing, and anything that cannot be stood behind is cut.
The rules every post follows
- No numbers about food or bodies. We may say that another app counts calories. We never print a calorie, weight, portion or BMI figure.
- No diagnosing. Posts describe what some people notice. They never tell a reader what they have.
- Proud is peer support, not treatment, therapy or a medical device, and no post says or implies otherwise.
- No food morality and no body ideals. No good or bad foods, no cheat days, no before and after.
- Every post links its sources at the bottom. Research claims point to the research, not to a summary of it.
- Every page carries crisis resources.
How we compare other apps
We make Proud, so Proud comes first in our comparisons and we say so at the top of each one. To keep that fair:
- Facts about another app come from its own App Store listing, its own website or published reporting, and each comparison shows the date they were checked.
- Every comparison has a section on when the other app is the better choice. Proud deliberately does not do some things, and if that is what you need, we would rather tell you.
- We do not invent ratings, user counts, testimonials or test results, for Proud or for anyone else.
Corrections
If a post is wrong, or out of date, email theo@proudforus.com. We fix factual errors and change the updated date on the post. That includes companies whose apps we compare.
